PB & J Green Smoothie

“A healthy outside, starts from the inside.”

As a blogger, I am supposed to have a niche. Easy. I am obsessed with fashion, beauty, and working out.  Everyone loves to see pretty pictures of a blonde in a cute outfit, right?  Those things are easy to capture and talk about.  For me though, those things are all rooted in my health.  If I’m not feeding myself nutritious things, no amount of concealer is going to cover up the blemishes that come from junk food.  There’s no workout in the world that will cancel out a bad diet.  And I’m definitely not going to feel very cute in my beloved crop tops if I’m munching on fast food.  You just can’t have one without the other.  To me, almost all happy and positive things in life start with taking care of your health and feeding yourself well.  Maybe one day I will go into my personal health quest and why I’m so passionate about healthy eating, but for now I’ll just share a ride or die green smoothie recipe of mine:

This particular smoothie is great for someone who wants to slowly start adding some greens to their smoothies.  The taste is basic and yummy.  No kale or spirulina or anything crazy. I try to have at least 3 cups of dark leafy greens every single day, and with a smoothie like this you are knocking out 2 of the 3!

What you need:
  1. 2 cups of organic spinach (I keep mine in the freezer for smoothies)
  2. 1 cup of organic frozen strawberries
  3. 1/2 frozen banana (I keep banana halves in the freezer too)
  4. 1 tsp chia seeds
  5. 1 tbsp organic peanut butter
  6. 1 cup unsweetened almond milk

Add all ingredients to a blender, blend, and Voila! ( I use the Ninja)

ENJOY!!

This (or some varying recipe) is my lunch every single day, but it’s perfect for breakfast too!  I usually have this and then a handful of nuts.  I love brazil nuts, walnuts, and pecans.  If I know I have a tough workout that evening, I’ll pack a boiled egg too just so I can get some extra protein.  This smoothie is so filling on its own though!

Hope y’all love this recipe!  It’s so nutritious and delicious.  Try to add in more greens to your meals every day.  You will start to see and feel the difference in your body.  I promise!  Let me know if there are any recipes you want to see in the future!

xoxo,
