Chasing dreams. Living out your passions.

Life is too short to do anything that doesn’t set your soul on fire.

Have you ever reached a certain point in life where you truly start seeing yourself clearly? When you realize things you used to believe about yourself are SO wrong? (Perhaps a part of that is beginning to see yourself the way Jesus does) Anyhow, that’s where I am. I turn 29 tomorrow and all I can think is wow, I need to do something I love. Something that I’m passionate about.

I listen to all of these business and self-development podcasts and something I hear over and over is, “You need to pursue something in your life that people ask you for advice on.” Honing your strengths, I suppose. I’m all for self-development and improving our weaknesses, but let’s be honest, we aren’t all great at everything. I have the attention span of a fly, I will always despise math, and I am perpetually late. I believe at this point in my life I need to just give up trying to change those things, and dig into the things I do well in life.

The truth is, day in and day out people ask me about 3 things: beauty, fashion, and fitness/health. ALL THE TIME! No one asks me how to file their taxes or how to make a budget. No one has ever asked me how to fix a car (or fix anything for that matter). No one inquires about my opinion on current affairs and our President. (and I’m actually more than okay with that). The point is, I bring value in my own way. Be that as it may, I have my strengths and I have my weaknesses and I’m just fine with them.

I’ve wanted to do this for years, and I don’t know why I keep piddlin’ around with it. So, here it is. My blog. I want to call it a lifestyle blog, but that seems far too fancy for this mountain girl. So, I’ll call it my livin’ Blog. I want to talk about all the things I’m passionate about, and encourage other women to find their own strengths and then the courage to pursue them too. For as long as I can remember, my life has the most meaning when I’m working closely beside women who build me up and who allow me to lift them up as well.

I’m surely no expert, nor am I a beauty queen, but my intentions come from the sincerest place. I love what I love. I’m good at what I’m good at. I would love it if you would follow along on this little endeavor with me. I hope and pray someone finds some positivity out of it. We get just this one life, so this is me living it.  One fabulous outfit, healthy meal, workout, and ridiculous skin care regimen at a time.

xoxo
